Nowos is a start-up founded in 2019 in the Netherlands, which repairs and reconditions lithium ion batteries to extend their lifetimes, for use in self-balancing personal transporters and electric bikes and scooters.
Nowos chose the Lyon region to set up its first French facility with the objective of creating about 25 jobs by late 2021 and around one hundred jobs within three years. Aderly assisted Nowos with its project to set up for business in the Lyon region, from networking within the ecosystem – the economic developer of the COR (Municipalities of Western Rhone), the national employment agency (Pôle Emploi) and the regional environment directorate (DREAL) – to finding premises and funding. Aderly is continuing to help thecompany with its recruiting and communication needs.
Nowos opened its site in Amplepuis, in the COR (Municipalities of Western Rhone), on Monday, 9 November. Its employees are now mobilised to repair and recondition batteries. The first commercial contracts have been made official, and Nowos already counts among its French clients renowned companies such as La Manufacture Française du Cycle. Several projects are underway with major brands that design and sell sporting goods.
The company chose the Lyon region for several reasons. First of all, for its strategic geographic location at the heart of the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes region, for its industrial vitality and innovation potential, and for its emphasis on sustainability, rising to the challenges of environmental protection and sustainable development.
In 2021, Nowos would also like to obtain the prestigious B Corporation Certification, for private companies that integrate social, societal and environmental performance objectives into their mission, business model, workforce and products or services.
